Kerala continues to report surge in Covid cases as it confirms 30,007 new positive cases on Thursday.
The test positivity rate is 18.03 per cent at present. 162 deaths were also confirmed due to Covid today, taking the death toll to 20,134. Bringing respite, 19,997 people recovered from the Corona virus infection. At present, over one lakh 81,000 people are undergoing COVID treatment in the state.
Meanwhile, the State Health Minister Veena George informed that the number of cases of Covid disease being reported from homes is on the rise in the State.
According to a study by the Department of Health, about 35 percent of covid infections occur within the home. The health minister said that if one person in the house gets Covid, everyone in the house gets tested positive for Covid.
This is mainly because the home quarantine rules and safety conditions are not being strictly followed. The Minister requested that those staying in the home quarantine should not leave the room and only those who can strictly adhere to home quarantine norms should stay in the home quarantine.
