Hyderabad: NAARM celebrates its 46th Foundation Day
46th foundation day of National Academy of Agricultural Research Management (ICAR-NAARM) was celebrated (both virtually and physically)at the Academy, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on Sept. 2021.
The Chief guest,Dr R.C. Aggarwal, DDG (Education), ICAR, said that world-bank funded National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP), which is been implemented collaboratively by ICAR institutes and State Agriculture Universities has received highest appreciation from World Bank under high category project in progress.
Team work is crucial for organizational success, and research managers and resource managers under NARES should take up inter-institutional collaborative projects for effective utilization of resources, he added. He appreciated the agriculture and related start-ups which are taken up and successfully run by dedicated individuals from non-agri sector irrespective of their education background.
He inaugurated agri-technology park and herbal garden developed by NAARM, and said that NAARM has set example for creating such demonstration technology parks across by all SAUs. He appreciated the activities and achievements of the academy, and congratulated the award winners and called upon the others to get motivated from the award winners.
Dr.SeemaJaggi, ADG(HRD), ICAR, Guest of honour, virtually participated and commended the activities of the institute in capacity strengthening of human resources of Indian agricultural research and education. She suggested to take up more research studies in collaboration with the various stakeholders of national agricultural research and education system (NARES) in the country.
Earlier, Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director,welcomed all the guests and highlighted the salient achievements of the academy in the areas of capacity building and research, and acknowledged the role ofvarious committees like QRT, RAC and IMC for their guidance in enhanced performance of the Academy.
On the occasion, NAARM decadal best performanceawards under five categories and annual best awards underseven different categories in scientific, technical, administrative, supporting staff and young professional categories were announced and honoured. Under the external awards categories, innovative farmers from across the India having close linkage with NAARM, Start-ups who graduated from NAARM and have made a significant impact, FPOs who were trained from NAARM and have made a significant impact and print and electronic media who had active engagement with NAARM were also felicitated on the occasion. The program was broadcast on various online streaming platforms where in former Directors of NAARM, Directors of various ICAR Institutes, faculty, scientists, technical and administration staff of the academy participated. Dr. G.Venkateswarlu, Joint Director, NAARM proposed vote of thanks.
