AP: CS seeking three months deadline for land acquisition for railway projects
Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das has asked the Union government to give another three months till the end of December to mobilize and hand over the remaining land for the Vijayanagaram-Titlaghar 3rd railway line project in the state, along with the new Nadikudi-Srikalahasti railway line and the Kadapa-Bangalore new railway line.
Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand will meet the Chief Secretaries of Governments, Co-Chairman of Projects Monitoring Group from Delhi on Friday on 13 pending issues related to railway, coal, energy and steel projects. Charge for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, Minister of State for Pioneer Personal and Public Grievances Dr. Jitendra Singh conducted the video conference.
On the occasion, CS Aditya Nath Das said that the Union ministers had responded positively to the request for another three months to collect and hand over the remaining land for the Vijayanagaram-Titlaghar, Nadkudi-Srikalahasti and Kadapa-Bangalore railway projects in the state and asked them to hand over the land within a month.
The Union Ministers directed the respective State Governments to take utmost care in this regard as the Prime Minister himself is overseeing the progress of the projects.
On the occasion, Chief Secretary to the Government Aditya Nath Das said that the state government has so far taken steps to mobilize land for railway projects and explained that the process of handing over the rest of the land would be completed by the end of December.
CS Aditya Nath Das told Union Ministers that some of the land required for the railway projects has already been handed over to the Railway Department and the rest is being expedited.
CS briefed the Union Ministers on the details of land mobilization provided for the respective projects so far. Similarly, CS Aditya Nath Das said that the construction of the new Kovvur-Bhadrachalam railway line was part of the state division and the government would take necessary steps with regard to the project aspect.
Chief secretaries of state TR&B and revenue departments Krishna Babu and V Usharani along with Arja Srikanth and Dr Chalapathi Rao were present at the video conference.
