Hyderabad: Proposal to set up a First Aid Center at the MEAI office
The Association has decided to set up a First Aid Center at the office of the Mining Engineers Association to enable students pursuing mining education to be useful to mining engineers. Association with subject matter experts Shri VS Rao, Shri M Narsayya, Dr MS Venkatramayya, Shri BSP Raju, Shri PT Naidu, Shri Swaminathan, Shri B Mahesh etc. to study it thoroughly. Chairman, NMDC CMD Shri Sumit Deb set up the committee. He suggested that the committee give its report within 15 days on the feasibility of setting up a first aid center.
The second committee meeting of the Hyderabad Chapter of the Mining Engineers Association (MEAI) in Hyderabad was chaired by Sumit Deb, chaired by the Association Chairman, NMDC CMD Shri Sumit Deb, Vice Chairman Dr MS Venkataramaiah, Secretary, Singareni Chief Liaison Officer Shri B. Mahesh, Joint Secretary Swami Krishnaji Rao, Treasurer Shri PVRS Raju participated.
Mr. Sumit Deb, Chairman of the Association, said that MEAI needs to act as a bridge between the mining industry and the students. As part of this, the Vice Chairman Shri MS Venkataramaiah proposed to organize as many workshops and seminars as possible to increase the knowledge and awareness among the mining students on the changes coming in the industry. The committee unanimously approved.
The first meeting of the National Council of the Association will be held in Hyderabad on the 11th and 12th of next month, said Secretary General Shri Narsaya. The committee also revealed that the Alumni of Mining Engineers (OU, KU) conference, which was postponed due to corona, will be held on the 11th and 12th of next month. It was decided to launch a membership registration program to enroll more lifelong members and students in the association.
The association also decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the family of the deceased who had died due to corona while performing duties in the association’s office. Also, the financial decisions taken during the tenure of the last committee and the details of the accounts were handed over to the new treasurer by Mr. Swaminathan, who had previously served as treasurer.
