Gujarat Govt has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Amazon India to boost the export of MSME sector.

The MoU was signed by MSME Commissioner of Department of Industries and Mines in Gujarat Government Ranjit Kumar and Global Trade Head of Amazon India, Kamra, in Gandhinagar in the presence of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani yesterday.

Speaking on this occasion, the Chief Minister said, the agreement would help the state’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector to reach the global market. This will also help to achieve the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The MoU will facilitate training sessions, webinars and workshops in Business-to-Commerce (B2C) e-commerce at MSME clusters in cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch and Rajkot for taking the local products to global markets.

It will also open up the link with the MSME sector in the state with Amazon’s digital market operational in 17 countries like USA, Canada, Brazil, France, Germany, UK, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Turkey and UAE.

The  MoU will increase the capacity of lakhs of MSME units of Gujarat to export their products like textiles, gems and jewelry, handicraft, healthcare, herbal and organic farming through e-commerce by Amazon India.
