Central Govt launches 7 food processing projects in UP, AP and TN

Central Govt launches The Central Government has launched seven food processing projects in Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. These projects were inaugurated yesterday by Food Processing Industries Minister, Pashupati Kumar Paras and the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Prahlad Singh Patel through video conferencing as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

A total of 3,100 people will get direct and indirect employment and 16 thousand 500 farmers and entrepreneurs will be benefited from these projects. The total cost of the projects is over 164 crore rupees.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Pashupati Kumar Paras conveyed his appreciation for the development of state-of-the-art processing facilities.

He said, these projects will prove a milestone in the growth of food processing sector. He added that the projects will benefit farmers, processors and consumers of respective regions and adjoining areas.

Addressing the ceremony, Prahlad Singh Patel said, efforts are being made for establishing presence of our brands at international level to ensure recognition to our processed products.

As a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration, the Ministry of Food Processing Industries is celebrating Food Processing Week from 6th to 12 of this month.
