Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani resigns
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today resigned from the post. According to sources, Chief Minister Rupani met the Governor Acharya Devvrat and handed over his resignation. Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel and party’s Gujarat in-Charge Bhupendra Yadav accompanied him.
Talking to media persons after his resignation, Mr. Rupani thanked the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Party’s high command for giving him the opportunity to serve the people of Gujarat.
He said that the development process in Gujarat will continue in the state with more energy under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi. He said that he is ready to take any responsibility given by the party high command. He said that BJP is a cadre-based party and responsibility is changed from time to time.
The resignation of Mr. Vijay Rupani from the post of Chief Minister is a clear indication of change in leadership before the coming Assembly Elections in the state.
The State Assembly elections are scheduled to be held before December 2022. According to sources, the name of the successor of Mr. Rupani is likely to be announced by this evening.
