Telangana: Govt to Supreme Court over immersion of Ganesh idols in Hussain Sagar!
Hyderabad: The Telangana government will appeal to the Supreme Court against the state high court’s decision regarding the immersion of POP (plaster of Paris) Ganesha statues in the Hussain Sagar.
It is learned that a decision to this effect was taken in a high-level review conducted by Chief Minister KCR.
It is learned that the High Court has refused to amend the judgment in the judgment relating to immersion. In this context, the CM on Monday conducted a review with KCR officials. The High Court judgment, the next course of action, and alternative routes were discussed.
Information that the review has decided to go to the Supreme Court to appeal against the High Court judgment in view of thousands of idols, sentiments of devotees, current conditions, etc.
The opinion was expressed in the meeting that the real situation should be brought to the notice of the Supreme Court and permission should be sought for immersion. To this end, the state government will file an appeal in the Supreme Court.
