IPL-2021:Rajasthan Royals beat Punjab Kings by 2 runs
Kartik Tyagi’s last-over heroics guide RR to a nail-biting two-run win against PBKS
IPL 2021 Live Cricket Score, PBKS vs RR Latest Match updates: KL Rahul (49) and Mayank Agarwal (67) were dismissed in quick succession after putting on an impressive 120-run stand for the first wicket.
How, how, how? How do the Kings keep doing this again and again and again? They needed 10 off 15, 8 off 12 and finally, just 4 off the final over. And yet, they have ended up losing by a couple of runs.
Lost for words here. But spare a thought for young Tyagi. WIth hardly anything to defend in the final over, he stuck to his guns and bowled brilliantly.
The Kings still should have gotten those four runs though. The chase was set up by the openers, KL and Mayank both taking turns at bossing the bowling, and it looked like one-way street even after they got out.
Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul (49) and opening partner Mayank Agarwal (67) approached the chase in the best way possible as they stitched an outstanding century stand for the first wicket.
They, however, were both dismissed in quick succession. A little earlier, Mayank Agarwal brought up his fifty. The first innings of the night belonged to Arshdeep Singh as he bagged his maiden five-wicket haul to peg back Rajasthan Royals and restrict them to 185/10 in their 20 overs.
Mohammed Shami also shone with the ball, picking up 5 wickets. Earlier, Evin Lewis (36) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (49) had gotten Rajasthan Royals off to a brisk start.
The team surpassed 50 in just 5 overs. Once they were dismissed, Liam Livingstone (25) and Mahipal Lomror (43) took up the boundary-scoring duties. But RR kept losing wickets at regular intervals and a mini-collapse at the end meant they could not get past 200.
What a FINAL over this has been ??
