Punjab: Former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh meets Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi
Punjab’s former Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today met with Union Home Minister, Amit Shah in New Delhi.
Later, in a tweet, he said he discussed the prolonged farmers agitation against Farm Laws and urged Mr. Shah to resolve the crisis urgently with repeal of the laws and guarantee MSP, besides supporting Punjab in crop diversification.
There was wide speculation about his joining BJP days after he stepped down from the top post in the state. Mr Singh had refused to answer questions about joining BJP. When he resigned as the Chief Minister earlier this month, had spoken of having his options open.

Mr Singh stepped down as Punjab Chief Minister after a long and bitter feud with detractors, including Navjot Singh Sidhu. Yesterday, Mr Sidhu resigned as party’s state chief.
