Tata Sons group gets bid for acquiring Air India
Tata Sons group has won the bid for acquiring national carrier Air India by winning bid of 18000 crore rupees beating a Consortium led by Ajay Singh.
Its a co-incident that the great man and philanthropist J.R.D. TATA founded India’s first commercial airlines ‘Tata Airlines’ in 1932 which became Air India in 1946 eventually again it came in the hand of Tata sons group. In a Radio Autobiography JRD had recalled his journey of commercial civil aviation in India.
JRD also shared his memories when he founded India’s first commercial airline, Tata Airlines in 1932, which became Air India in 1946 and later India’s national airline. It may be recalled that JRD was the first licensed piolet in India. he received two of India’s highest civilian awards the Padma Vibhushan and the Bharat Ratna.
The father of Indian Civili aviation, J R D Tata died in Geneva, Switzerland on 29 November 1993 at the age of 89.
