Vizag Zoo “67th Wildlife Week-2021” concludes successfully
On the occasion of “67thWildlife Week-2021” Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam conducted various competitions for school & college students from October 2 nd – Oct 8th.
On the last day of the “Wildlife Week” celebrations State level Valedictory Function has been conducted at Zoo Park. Sh. AK Jha, APCCF (Vigilance), O/o PCCF (HoFF), AP graced the occasion as a chief guest and delivered his views about Wildlife week conducted at IGZP.
With the cooperation of the people, we have to conserve the wildlife around us, he added. Many children have actively participated in the events conducted at IGZP, he said. To make them much better citizens, preserve the environment, he concluded. Kalajatha art group from Visakhapatnam performed skits about conservation of wildlife and given thoughtful information to the public.
FRO Smt. K.UmaMaheswari had received Dr.KVS BABU AWARD for her exemplary efforts in Wildlife Conservation. On this occasion AP State Biodiversity Poster, IGZP post cards & Butterfly brochures were released by the chief guest Sh. AK Jha, APCCF (Vigilance), O/o PCCF (HoFF), AP. As a lady Assistant Curator K. UmaMaheswari puts an effort towards Wildlife conservation, said Sh. P Ram Mohan Rao, IFS, Conservator of Forests, Visakhapatnam.
The prestigious KVS BABU award has been presented to her, he added. Last year we organized online events for Wildlife week due to Corona. But now conducted offline events with all precautionary measures of Covid-19, said Dr. Nandani Salaria, IFS, Curator, IGZP.
There was a good response from the public especially from children and parents, she added. Zoo staff, Winners participated actively in the valedictory programme.
