Hyderabad: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: NYSK, ASI, PIB & NSS conduct Clean India drive at Golkonda Fort

As a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) along with Archaeological Survey of India(ASI), Press Information Bureau(PIB) and the National Service Scheme (NSS) has conducted Clean India drive at Golkonda Fort in Hyderabad.

NSS Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Regional Director, Ramakrishna said awareness among local people has been generated about clean and healthy surroundings on the occasion.

They have been advised to avoid single use plastics and their proper disposal. He further said various activities under the Clean India campaign have been taken up in various districts of Telangana during the month.

As a part of the drive, the NYK, NSS volunteers collected nearly 285 kgs of waste including single use plastic from the surrounding areas of Golconda Fort.

It may be recalled that the government had launched the ‘Clean India’ program on 1st of this month to create greater awareness on cleanliness as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.
