Maharashtra: Govt allows restaurants and eateries to stay open till midnight: CS
In Maharashtra, in order to give further impetus to the economy, the state government today said that all restaurants and eateries would be allowed to function till 12 AM. The order issued by State Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte said that all other establishments have been allowed to function till 11 PM.
The decision to allow shops to remain open till 11 PM, whereas restaurants and hotels to remain open till midnight comes in the wake of the upcoming festival, where the state government felt that restrictions on time of functioning may lead to more crowding in the shorter duration.
The order empowered the local District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to restrict these timings further if so deemed fit due to any local requirements but shall not relax it further without the prior consent of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).
