State Technical Education Commissioner Shri Naveen Mittal said that with the use of artificial intelligence technology, revolutionary changes are taking place in all sectors of the world and all countries are making significant progress. He also aspired to keep our country on the path of development through the use of artificial intelligence technology in the field of mining.
A two-day National Seminar on “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Mineral Industries” organized by Osmania and Kakatiya University Mining Alumni Association-Mining Engineers Association (MEAI) Hyderabad Chapter, New Goodham School of Mines, Malla Reddy Engineering College, Hyderabad on Thursday. Mr. Naveen Mittal was the Chief Guest at the Webinar. He unveiled a souvenir designed by the Mining Alumni Association of Osmania and Kakatiya Universities.
He later said that artificial intelligence technology had become an integral part of everyday e-mail, cell phone and other applications. The alumni association of Osmania and Kakatiya varsities and retired mining engineers are appreciated for taking the initiative in the field of mining in the country right now.
He said that in the coming days, the country will see significant growth with artificial intelligence in mining, especially in the exploration of mineral resources, prevention of accidents in mines, effective use of machinery in underground mines and surface mines. Like the telecom revolution that started in the country a decade ago.
He hopes to see revolutionary developments in the mining sector with Artificial Intelligence in the coming decade as well. He recalled that despite the changes in mining, significant progress has been made in production and productivity in Singareni in our state. Suggested that more research be done on developing the technology to meet industry needs.
A bright future for mining with the initiative of OU and KU alumni
Mr. Naveen Mittal lauded the Alumni Association of Mining Engineers (MEAI) of Osmania and Kakatiya varsities for taking a good initiative to make mining education accessible to students in the state of Telangana, which has vast mineral resources.
In particular, they have been instrumental in re-launching the BTech Mining course at the College of Engineering on the Osmania Varsity Campus in Hyderabad from this academic year and appreciated the organization of national level conferences to develop the technical skills required for students entering the field of mining.
Mr. KJ Amarnath, Convener of the Management Committee, delivered the keynote address at the two-day seminar. Singam Jayant and Professor Karthik explained the need for the seminar.
OU and KU Alumni Association Presidents Shri Bikki Ramesh Kumar, MEAI Vice Chairman Dr. MS Venkataramaiah, Singareni Advisor (Mining) Shri DN Prasad, MEAI Secretary, Singareni Chief Liaison Officer Shri B. Mahesh, OU Mining Faculty Sri Venkataramana, Sri Satish Kumar and others participated. Engineers from Singareni, CIL, NMDC, NLC etc. participated online.
