Karnataka: Sports and Youth Affairs dept identifies 75 sportspersons under Amrut Sports persons adoption programme
The Sports and Youth Affairs department in Karnataka has identified 75 sportspersons under the Amrut Sports persons adoption programme. The scheme aims at identifying potential sportspersons who can win medals for the country during the next Paris Olympics.
The Sports minister in the state Dr. Narayana Gowda has informed media in Bangalore yesterday that 75 promising talented young sportspersons in various disciplines of the sports are identified for training for the Paris Olympics.
Golfer Adithi Ashok, Swimmer Srihari Nataraj, Para Olympian Niranjan, Fawad Mirza from Equestrian are part of the sports persons identified under Amruth adoption programme. Under which the selected sportspersons will be given five lakh rupees annually, imparted best training and assistance to make them fit enough to win a medal.
