AP Tourism: The focus should be on 100% occupancy in tourist hotels: Muthamsetti Srinivasa Rao
AP State Tourism, Culture and Youth Affairs Minister Muttam Shetji Srinivasa Rao has directed the authorities to focus on achieving 100 per cent occupancy in tourist hotels in the state.
On Tuesday, the minister met officials of the tourism and sports departments in his chamber at the Amravati Secretariat to review the progress of the work being done department-wise. On the occasion, the Minister said that the next four months are a good season for tourism and suggested that the authorities should pay special attention to the issue of taking advantage of this opportunity.
The state wants to organize at least four tourism festivals region-wise to attract large-scale tourists. Sponsors need to be identified accordingly. State-level officials are expected to visit at least two districts every day to constantly monitor the improvement of facilities in tourist hotels and resorts.
Officials want to pay special attention to bring about complete changes in tourist hotels and resorts within a month. Talk to private operators and see if the boating facility is available to tourists. The app, which is being developed as part of tourism promotions, is expected to be available in two months.
The app is expected to be fully available to tourists in the new year. The Minister directed the officials to bring about clear changes and development in the tourism sector so that the officers and employees can work with commitment in line with the government policy.
Afterwards, the Minister reviewed the activities of the Sports Ministry and directed that district level CM Cup tournaments be organized in Vijayanagar on the 6th of next month. Later, he wanted to prepare plans for hosting CM Cup tournaments in West Godavari and East Godavari districts as well. The minister directed the authorities to make arrangements for the opening of two sports development centers at Tenali and Bapatla on November 1.
