Telangana Forest dept: Collection for Beedi Leaf from next November: PCCF R. Shobha

The forest department has decided to start the collection season for Beedi Leaf (Tunica) early. Forest department officials met with members of the Beedi Leaf Association at Aranya Bhavan to discuss collection arrangements for next season’s tunica.

The Chief Conservation Officer (PCCF) Shobha said that the season would start from November this year as part of forest conservation and fire prevention. This time 242 units are being set up.

The allocation of units will be done through online auction as in the previous year. Contractors collecting tunica in protected forest areas have decided to install fire watchers as part of preventing fire hazards from the beginning of the summer.

In this meeting with PCCF R. Shobha in addition, additional PCCFs include Siddhanand Kukreti, A.K. Sinha, Kawwal Tiger Reserve Field Director Vinod Kumar, Chief Conservators of Adilabad and Warangal Circles Ramalingam, Asha, Bedi Leaf Association representatives were present.
