Under Amrit Mahotsav celebrations 75 lighthouses to be established across the country: Sarbananda Sonowal

Union Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal has said that 75 lighthouses will be established across the country as part of the ongoing Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.

He was inaugurating the Valiyazheekkal Lighthouse in Alappuzha district this evening, built for ten crore rupees.

The Minister said, the Centre’s focus is on the overall growth of the country, especially the development of coastal regions.

The new structure inaugurated today is the country’s first pentagon-shaped lighthouse and Kerala’s second tallest lighthouse.
