Maharashtra: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar’s properties attached by Income Tax Department
The Income Tax Department has provisionally attached various properties worth hundreds of crore rupees across Maharashtra, Delhi and Goa linked to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The properties are attached by Income Tax Department under Benami Act. Our correspondent quoting official sources reports that the attached properties include a cooperative sugar factory and a Tower at Nariman Point.
The action was taken by the department after discovering an unaccounted income of about 184 crore rupees last month during the massive search operation. Last month, the IT department conducted raids at houses and companies of the sisters of Mr Pawar.
