Vice President inaugurates new Units, state of art equipment at Sidhartha Medical College, Vijayawada
“The Covid, 19 pandemic has highlighted the need for expansion of our health infrastructure at primary, secondary and tertiary level “, said the Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu after inaugurating new Units and state of the art equipment at Sidhartha Medical College, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh today.
Interacting with the students and faculty the Vice President has expressed his happiness that India is on the path to achieve the WHO recommended ratio of one doctor per 1,000 people by 2024. He also appreciated the launch of Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health infrastructure Mission which seeks to strengthen the critical healthcare network from village to national level in the next four to five years.
Referring to the Ongoing Covid, 19 pandemic, Venkaiah Naidu asked the medical fraternity to be ready to tackle any such disease/epidemic in future by increasing their focus on research on emerging diseases.
On this occasion, the Vice President also inaugurated a medical Oxygen Plant (1200 LPM PSA ), Biomedical Equipment, Unit of Cardiac Sciences and Unit of Neuro Sciences at the Medical College. The Vice President also made mention of the AIIMS , Mangalagiri and said that it will cater to the needs of the people in Andhra Pradesh in giving quality medical services.
