FCRI redirects students towards the set goals

FCRI, 2017 batch of B.Sc. Degrees are a priority for forestry students

Ms. A. Shanthi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary, Forest Department said that there is a need for expert forest officials to tackle climate change around the world and the Telangana Forest College and Research Institute is training students to meet those needs. She recalled that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao had said that the fruits of the Forest College, which was set up with great foresight in the early days of Telangana, were now being reaped. She was the chief guest at the graduation ceremony held in Mulugu on Friday under the auspices of the Forest College & Research Institute (FCRI).

On completion of a four-year degree course, the 2017 batch of B.Sc. (Hons) Degree Certificates Presentation Program for Forestry Students was well organized at Mulugu Campus. .

PCCF R. Shobha, along with Osmania University Registrar P. Lakshmi Narayana, Horticulture University Vice Chancellor Neeraja Prabhakar and Forest College Dean Priyanka Varghese presented degree certificates to 48 students.

Many on the occasion lauded the college management for taking the initiative towards FCRI progress, academic standards and students’ careers.

Ms. R. Shobha PCCF (HoFF) said within a few years of its inception, Telangana Forest College has achieved international standards, setting the standards for students to excel in their careers and competitiveness.

Mr. P. Lakshmi Narayana Registrar Osmania University said that the progress made by Telangana can be understood by looking at the Forest College campus, which is full of excellent facilities and greenery.

Mr. Neeraja Prabhakar, Vice-Chancellor, Hearty Culture University, lauded the large number of girls coming towards forest education, which is considered to be challenging and complex.

Ms. Priyanka Varghese Dean said the Forest College, which was set up with the intention of setting up a national level forest college and providing good civil service officers to the country, was taking steps in that direction. She submitted the college progress report. It was revealed that proposals have been sent to the government to further expand the Forest College and identify it as a university, as well as launch a study circle for students preparing for competitive examinations.

Special Talent Awards for Outstanding Students, Green India Challenge Gold Prize

As part of their four-year course, the authorities presented special talent awards and medals to eight students who excelled in various fields.

Patil Jyotsna received the Gold Medal on behalf of the Green India Challenge under the patronage of Rajya Sabha MP Joginapalli Santosh Kumar.

The event was attended by PCCF (Social Forestry) RM Dobrial, Forest Corporation VC&MD Dr. Chandrasekhara Reddy, Retired Officers BP Acharya, PKJa, Manoranjan Bhanja, Deputy Directors Sutan, Srinivas, Narsinha Reddy, College staff and students.

F.C.R.I.Achivements

  1. B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry Students of 2017 Batch have completed their 4 years Degree Course in May 2021. They will be awarded with Degree Certificates on 12th November 2021.
  2. Total Number of Students 48
  3. 4 Students have already Joined M.Sc. Forestry at F.R.I. Dehradun.
  4. YalalMallesh secured All India First Rank in PG Common Entrance examination-2021 conducted by Maharastra Council of Agriculture Education And Research.
  5. Kasarla Raju Qualified Civils Services Preliminary Examination-2021for both IAS and IFS in his first attempt. He is now preparing for Mains examination.
  6. BodaVijendar appeared for CAPF-ACS 2021 examination and cleared prelims and mains. He is now preparing for the interview and physical test.
  7. Dontha Preethi Chandana appeared for Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance test(TSICET) -2021 for MBA and secured 199th rank.
  8. Other Students are Awaiting ICAR -AIEEA 2021 Exam Results for Joining PG Programme in Forestry India in ICAR – accredited Universities and Institutions.

Students have Completed 180 Credits in 56 Different Courses in Forestry Including three Study tours (Telangana, South India, North India), Further Students were Exposed to various Field attachment like Forestry Ranges, wildlife, Forestry Based Industries, NGO’S , Urban Forestry, NABARD, Further the students were involved in research Projects, Internships, READY Programme as per course curriculum.
