Vizag Zoo celebrates Children’s Day

On the occasion of “Children’s Day” Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam has conducted a special program named as “Classy Critters (Free Zoo Tour)” for children upto 15 years age from various schools in and around Vizag.

Children have actively participated and enjoyed the Zoo guided tour taken up by Conservation Biologist Mr. Purushotham & Education Officer Miss. Divya. After Zoo Tour,“Make their own Face Mask” competition was conducted with the theme of Zoo Animals using paper/cardboard etc, Children showcased their talent by making face masks in given time, said Dr. Nandani Salaria, Curator, IGZP.

These competitions help to increase the hidden creative thoughts of the children, she added. Parents also encouraged their children to participate in this competition.

It helps them to learn new things about wildlife and their conservation, said Dr. Nandani Salaria, IFS, Curator, IGZP.

On this occasion we have given free entry for children below 15 years. Around 1300 children have visited the Zoo for free.
