Low pressure area forms over East Central Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast

A low Pressure Area has formed over East Central Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast. The Met department in Karnataka has issued a yellow alert along the coastline.

The forecast says that Low Pressure Area over East Central Arabian Sea off Karnataka coast with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level persists.

It is likely to move west­ north westwards and become more marked during the next 48 hours. Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation there will be heavy showers over east central and adjoining south East Arabian sea off Karnataka-North Kerala coasts.

Entire coastal Karnataka is likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places from today to November 20th. Suitable warning has been issued to fishermen not to venture into the sea.
