Maharashtra primary schools to reopen from Dec 1

The Maharashtra state Department of School Education has decided to start classes for primary schools in the state from 1st December. Minister of School Education Prof. Varsha Gaikwad has appealed to all schools to strictly follow Covid Protocols.

According to circular issued yesterday, it has been made mandatory for all teachers and non-teaching staff to take RTPCR test for Covid-19 two days in advance before commencement of classes.

It said that students should be told consistently that their nose and mouth should be completely covered with masks. Hand washing facilities should be provided in the school. Students will need the consent of their parents before attending school.

All schools should be attached to health centers. Interested doctors and parents should be consulted for this. Schools with high enrollment should be filled in two sessions per day.

Students, teachers and staff should be subjected to daily thermal screening tests. At present, no games of any kind should be played for the students of 1st to 4th class. Drivers and helpers should be 100 percent vaccinated for safe travel of students.
