Electricity is essential for better living and development of the country. However, while generating electricity we should focus on energy conservation and minimising wastage, says Shri Ramesh Babu V, Director (Operations), NTPC while speaking at the Prize Distribution of State Level Painting Competition held at NTPC-Southern Region Headquarters on December 13, 2021. The Painting Competition with the thrust on Energy Conservation is the right way to create awareness among children from early age, the Director (Operations) added.
Echoing similar view, Shri Sunil Kumar Satya, Regional Executive Director (South) appreciated the children for their excellent painting which depicted their concern on energy conservation. He further asked the children to use the learning in their day-to-day life to make the world a better place of living.
NTPC Southern Region Headquarters, being the nodal agency for Telangana State, organized the state level painting Competition on December 04 at Secunderabad and on December 06 at Nizamabad and Nirmal districts wherein children from Telangana State participated in large numbers. An initiative of Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Ministry of Power with the focus on Energy Conservation, the programme witnessed participation of children in two groups: Group-A (Class 5, 6 & 7) and Group-B (Class 8, 9 & 10).
The Topics for State Level Painting are: Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India and Cleaner Plant. The best 13 in each group i.e. ‘A’ & ‘B’ at State Level are given awards and their paintings are forwarded for selection at National Level. In each Group, the First Prize winner at State Level received Rs. 50,000.00, followed by the Second Prize winner with Rs 30,000.00 and Third Prize winner with Rs 20000.00. Consolation Prizes were also given to 10 students for their excellent paintings with Prize value of Rs. 7500.00 each.
NTPC senior officials, parents of students and teachers participated in large number in adherence to covid protocols.
