Delhi bans Christmas, New Year gatherings as Omicron cases rise
Delhi Disaster Management Authority, DDMA has issued an order banning all cultural events and gatherings for Christmas and New Year celebrations in the national capital in view of rising cases of new Covid variant- Omicron.
In its order, DDMA has asked all the District Magistrates and Deputy Commissioners of Police to ensure that no cultural events and congregations take place during Christmas and New Year.
It has instructed all DMs to take all requisite actions and measures to control its spread of Covid-19 cases including Omicron variant.
It has also asked the DMs to conduct survey of the entire area failing in their jurisdiction and identify those pockets, colonies and markets which have potential of becoming super- spreader or hotspot of Coivd-19 virus and Omicron.
DDMA said that all DMs in coordination with Deputy Commissioners of Police will take concerted action in these areas as per the protocol like Test, Track and Treat, containment measures and enforcement of Covid Appropriate Behaviour.
