Six maoists killed in police encounter in Andhra Pradesh
Six Maoists including four women were killed on Monday in an encounter between Police and Maoists in Pasalapudi forest area in Andhra Pradesh.
According to Police, the joint operation of Greyhounds and Bhadradri Kothagudem District Police, DRG Kistaram-Sukma and 141 Battalion of CRPF was carried out on the basis of a reliable information about large gathering and movement of Maoist group planning to attack a Police Station this morning.
The incident occurred at Doraguda, near Kistaram in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh adjoining Telangana’s Charla Mandal. Six Maoists including four women were neutralised in the exchange of fire.
Police have seized five weapons including two riffles and four rocket launchers and other material from the location. The neutralised Maoists are being identified.
