Himachal Pradesh in grip of severe cold, higher reaches receive snowfall
In Himachal Pradesh, most of the places are in the grip of severe cold as the medium and upper hill reaches received fresh snowfall while the plains have been experiencing rain for the past 24 hours. State capital Shimla has been experiencing moderate fresh snowfall since last night.
Apart from Kufri and Narkanda, the famous tourist places of Shimla district, other tourist destinations of high and medium hills have also received fresh moderate snowfall for the second time.
Keylong remains the coldest place in the state, recording a minimum temperature of minus 7.2 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, heavy snowfall has affected normal life in tribal districts, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur and Pangi and Bharmour of Chamba district. Many circuit roads and state Highways have been blocked due to heavy snowfall in these areas.
The state weather department has predicted rain and snowfall for today as well, at isolated places of high and mid-hills.
