World Wetlands Day: Wetlands action for people and planet

Today is World Wetlands Day. This Day is observed every year to raise global awareness about the vital role of wetlands for people and planet.

The 2nd of February also marks the date of the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands in 1971 in the Iranian city of Ramsar.

A call to take action for wetlands is the focus of this year’s campaign.
