Singareni plans to establish addl 1,000 MWs of solar power plants in Telangana: CMD N.Sridhar instructs officials to prepare proposals
After successful commissioning of 219 MWs of solar power plants and successful generation of power from them, Singareni Collieries is now planning to establish additional 1,000 MW capacity Solar power plants in Telangana state.
Singareni Chairman and Managing Director Sri N Sridhar instructed the officials to prepare proposals for establishing 1,000 MWs of solar plants which could be submitted to the government for getting approvals.
He has conducted a review meeting with the officials on thermal and solar power generation in Singareni bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday. He said that after getting approvals solar power plants will be installed in unused and vacant government lands. He also instructed to complete the erection work of 15 mw solar floating plant on the waters of STPP reservoir by May this year.
Chairman and Managing Director Sri N Sridhar told that Singareni is the first coal company in the country to enter into the thermal and solar power generation along with coal production. He further added that, Singareni had so far installed 219 MWs of solar power plants in the coal belt region and generated 21.29 crore units of power and saved power bills to the tune of Rs 65.27 crore. He also instructed the officials to complete the tendering process for third phase of 66 MWs of solar power plants by April this year.

C&MD Sri.N.Sridhar said that Singareni Thermal power plant had generated power at 90 per cent PLF during the last consecutive five months period and emerged as number one thermal station in the Country.
He said that, when compared with the first 10 months of last financial year, STPP has generated 7737 million units of power by registering a growth of 25 percent in the first 10 months of current Financial Year. Last year same period STPP generated only 6,208 million units of power.
Director (E&M) Sri. D.Satyanarayana Rao, General Manager (Solar) Sri.Suryanarayana Raju, Chief Technical consultant Sanjay Kumar Sur, Chief O&M Sri.JN Singh, GM (Civil) Sri.Ramesh Babu and others were also present.
