UP Elections: Over 60% voting recorded in 1st phase of assembly polls
In Uttar Pradesh, polling for the first Phase of Assembly Elections was held today in 58 Assembly Constituencies spread over 11 districts. Over 60 percent voter turnout was registered in this phase. The state is witnessing Seven-Phased elections.
Meanwhile, campaigning has intensified for the other phases of elections in the state.
Senior BJP leader and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a political rally in Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh where elections will be held in second phase. Addressing the gathering Prime Minister said that Uttar Pradesh needs development and that is why the double engine government is necessary for the state.
Attacking on opposition Prime Minister said that earlier governments only worked for the development of their family but Yogi government is working for the benefit of each and every person of the society. Many leaders also campaigned in state.
Prime Minister said in Saharanpur rally that some people are jealous with the growing support for BJP among Muslim women that is why they are trying to rake up unnecessary issues. Prime Minister said that not only the Yogi government implemented schemes like Pradhanmantri aawas Yojana on large scale but also worked for the local wood work industry of Saharanpur. Other senior BJP leaders also campaigned in the state. BJP President JP nadda address rally in Sitapur district today.
Senior BJP leader and union information and broadcasting minister Anurag Singh Thakur inaugurated media centre of party in Varanasi district.
Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also campaigned for party candidates in Rampur and Moradabad districts.
Samajwadi party chief Akhilesh Yadav campaigned for party candidates in Bijnor district. He along with RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary held roadshow in Bijnor also while Asaduddin Owaisi chief of AIMIM addressed election rally in Bareilly district.
