Mindtree co-founders Subroto Bagchi and N S Parthasarathy to donate Rs 425 crore to IISc in Bengaluru to build PG medical college and hospital
The Mindtree cofounders and philanthropists Subroto Bagchi and N S Parthasarathy will donate 425 crore rupees to the Indian Institute of Science in Bengaluru to build a PG medical college and 800-bed multi-specialty hospital.

In a statement issued by the Director of IISc Govindan Rangarajan, the postgraduate medical college and hospital on the campus will integrate MD and Ph.D. programmes to nurture a new breed of physician-scientists. The students will be trained simultaneously in the hospital and also in the science and engineering labs of the research Institute.
The proposed Bagchi-Parthasarathy Hospital will be a non-profit, multi-specialty hospital with several specialties such as nephrology, urology, dermatology and plastic surgery, organ transplant, robotic surgery, and ophthalmology. The IISc director said that the 425 crore rupees donation is the largest single private donation ever received by IISc.
