Women’s World Cup: India beat Pakistan by 107 runs at Mount Maunganui in New Zealand
In Women’s World Cup Cricket, India has defeated Pakistan by 107 runs in their opening encounter at the Bay Oval in New Zealand. India scored 244 runs for 7 wickets. Smriti Mandhana, Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar scored half-centuries each to propel the innings total past the 240-run mark.
Rana and Pooja added 100 runs for the seventh wicket. Rajeshwari Gayakwad claimed four wickets while Jhulan Goswami and Sneh Rana claimed two wickets each.
Pakistan was bowled out in 37 overs with the score of 137 runs. For Pakistan, Nida Dar and Nashra Sandhu picked two wickets each. Earlier, Indian skipper Mithali Raj won the toss and decided to bat first.

No Asian country has won the Women’s ODI World Cup before. Both teams are meeting in an ODI for the first time since the 2017 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has congratulated Indian Women’s Cricket Team on their victory. In a tweet, Thakur said, it was a superb performance and a spectacular start to the World Cup.
