NIRDPR sign MoU with UNICEF (India) on International women’s day for strategic engagements
On the occasion of International women’s day, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati (NIRDPR) and the UNICEF, India. The MoU details the comprehensive partnership between NIRDPR and UNICEF for strategic engagements for the period 2022 to 2027.
UNICEF’s commitment towards the protection and development of children and NIRDPR’s commitment towards integrated rural development with focus on women and child development will be further strengthened through this MoU. The objective of this MoU is to undertake joint projects for the welfare of women and children in rural areas. Both the parties will use their expertise in research and capacity building to strengthen the MoU.

The MoU was signed by Ms. Hyun Hee Ban, Chief, Social Policy, Monitoring and Evaluation, UNICEF and Dr.M Srikanth, Registrar of NIRDPR in the presence of Dr. G Narendra Kumar IAS, Director General of NIRDPR. In his address Dr. G Narandra Kumar said that NIRDPR is focusing its work on engendering development at grassroots level and also towards socially secured Gram Panchayat.
Institutionalizing Mahila Sabha and Bal Sabha and integrating their action plan with Gram Panchayat Development Plan will bring difference in the lives of women and children. Centre for Gender and Development Studies at NIRDPR in partnership with UNICEF is working on this direction.
Ms. Hyun Hee Ban in her address said that Sustainable Development Goals can be achieved only when issues faced by children are addressed and their voices heard. Dr. N V Madhuri, Head, Centre for Gender Studies and Development, Dr.Vanishree Joseph, Centre for Gender Studies and Development, NIRDPR and Ms. Reeni Kurian, Hyderabad field Office, UNICEF were also present
