TN: Katchatheevu hosts two-day St. Anthony festival
The annual two-day festival of St.Anthony is being held at Katchatheevu from today. A total of eighty fishermen and others began their journey from Rameswaram fishing harbor to attend the festival today.
The passengers are traveling by three powerboats and a country-made vessel to attend the festival at the island which is situated between India and Srilanka.
The fishermen have undergone the official clearances to attend the festival.
It is a customary festive occasion for fishermen from both countries to attend the event. At least fifty fishermen and their families from Jaffna, Sri Lanka are also attending the festival which begins today evening and ends tomorrow.
