Govt allowed full discussion on various issues in both houses during budget session: Prahlad Joshi
Union Minister for parliamentary affairs Prahlad Joshi today said that the government allowed full discussion on various issues in both houses during the budget session and it is not appropriate for the opposition to allege that government denied discussion. He said in fact the opposition members requested to adjourn both houses sine die before the scheduled time.
Talking to the media at Parliament House, Mr Joshi said that opposition was demanding discussion on price hike and the issue was touched during discussion on Ukraine and other subjects and even Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri responded to the queries of opposition members on price hike.

Mentioning the achievements of the budget session, Minister said that the productivity of Lok Sabha during the budget session was approximately 129 percent while that of Rajya Sabha was 98 percent.
He said that during the session a total of 13 bills, 12 in Lok Sabha and one in Rajya Sabha were introduced. While 13 bills were passed by Lok Sabha and 11 bills were passed by Rajya Sabha, total number of bills passed by both houses of parliament is 11. Three short duration discussions under rule 193 were also held in Lok Sabha.
