TN: CM Stalin urges PM Modi to withdraw CUET for admissions in Central Universities
Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin has urged the Centre to withdraw the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admissions in Central Universities. In a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday.
He said the University Grants Commission’s move to hold the entrance tests through National Testing Agency (NTA) is not in the interest of the rural and poor students.
He has said the step has vindicated the state Government’s stand that the introduction of NEET for MBBS admissions was not an isolated instance but a definitive prelude to the larger attempt to centralize higher education admissions.

He has said, the CUET, similar to NEET will side-line the diverse school education systems across the country. He has said the test will grossly undermine the relevance of learning in schools and make students rely upon coaching centres for improving their entrance examination scores.
