AP: CM Jagan says Govt fulfilling every promise with the aim of develop and welfare of fishermen communities
Chief Minister YS Jagan today distributed Rs 108.75 crore at a rate of Rs 10,000 to 1,08,755 fishing families as part of the Fisheries Assurance Program in I. Polavaram mandal Muramalla in Konaseema district. Similarly, ONGC provided Rs 107.90 crore for integrated development livelihood to 23,458 fishermen.
The fishing assurance distribution program conducted today in I. Polavaram mandal Muramalla in Konaseema district was a success. The Chief Minister had earlier inspected the stalls set up by the Fisheries Department. The CM has laid the foundation stone for several development projects. ONGC officials and staff felicitated the CM on the occasion.
This is the fourth year in a row that the government is fulfilling every promise made for the development and welfare of fishermen.
Financial assistance of about Rs 109 crore at the rate of Rs 10,000 per family will be provided to 1,08,755 fishing families across the state during the April 15 – June 14 non – hunting season.
In addition, a total of Rs 217 crore, including financial assistance of Rs 108 crore to 23,458 fishing families who lost their livelihood due to the ONGC pipeline, was credited directly to their accounts by CM Shri YS Jagan at the push of a button.
Fishermen assurance program was attended by Transport Minister Pinipey Vishwaroop, BC Welfare, I & PR, Cinematography Minister Valid Srinivasa Venugopalakrishna, Animal Husbandry, Dairy Development, Fisheries Minister Sidiri Appalaraju, Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh, several MPs, MLCs, MPs and others.
