Tripura BJP state President Manik Saha elected as new CM after Biplab Kumar Deb resigns
Rajya Sabha MP and Tripura State Party President Dr. Manik Saha is elected as new CM of Tripura after Chief Minister Mr. Biplab Kumar Deb resigned from the CM post today.
Mr. Biplab Kumar Deb submitted his resignation letter before the governor Satyadev Narayan Arya this afternoon.
Talking to the media he said that in view of the forthcoming assembly election this is very much needed to look into the organizational matters and to strengthen the party.
The state assembly election is slated to be held, in Feb of 2023.
Deb became the Chief Minister of the state on March 9, 2018, after the BJP-led alliance came to power ending the 25-year-long rule of the Left Front government.
