Tripura: CM Biplab Deb resigns: BJP legislative party meet to pick new leader
Tripura Chief Minister Mr. Biplab Kumar Deb resigned from the CM post today. He submitted his resignation letter before the governor Satyadev Narayan Arya this afternoon.
Deb was in the national capital yesterday and returned this morning. According to reports, BJP legislative party will meet shortly to pick a new leader.
Deb became the chief minister of the state after the BJP won the 2018 Tripura polls, ending the 25-year-long rule of the Left Front government.


Talking to media he said that in view of the forthcoming assembly election this is very much needed to look into the organisational matters and to strengthen the party. The state assembly election is slated to be held, in Feb of 2023.
An important meeting in presence of Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, Central Observer Vinod Sonkar and other leaders central leaders is now underway at the official residence of the Chief Minister to choose the new BJP legislature party leader.
Party sources said state BJP President Dr Manik Saha and Central Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik are the front runners for the Chief
