Kerala: Govt directed to identify places to conduct social impact survey on methods other than laying survey
The CPM-led Left Democratic Front Government in Kerala has directed the K-Rail Development Corporation to identify sites to conduct social impact survey on methods other than laying of survey stones, which has been encountering stiff resistance from the public.
The K-Rail can execute this by either the geo-tagging method or by demarcating the boundaries on permanent structures.

Welcoming the government move, Congress-led United Democratic Front opposition has termed it a victory of the first phase of the struggle against the semi-high speed rail corridor project.
The BJP, which is also opposed to the Silverline project, said the State Government had to bow before the public sentiment.
