Telangana: CM KCR honored Padma Shri Award recipient environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka
Nature conservationist from Karnataka, eminent environmentalist, Padma Shri awardee, 110 year old Salumarada Thimmakka today paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Shri K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragati Bhavan, Hyderabad.
On this occasion, the CM himself accompanied the review meeting and introduced Padma Shri Thimmakka to the ministers and public representatives present at the meeting. In the presence of all of them the CM honored her and handed over the memento.
CM KCR is working very hard for the development of Telangana state, said Thimmakka. He expressed happiness over the state of Telangana under the leadership of CM KCR being at the forefront of the country in the fields of agriculture, forestry etc.
Thimmakka told the CM that she would provide plants if the state needed them, and her quest for environmental protection inspired those present at the conference.
On the occasion of the launch of the book ‘Green Will’, the CM unveiled a collection of essays written by several authors under the editorship of Sahitya Akademi Chairman Shri Zuluri Gaurishankar on the environmental work being done by the Telangana Government on forest conservation, plant cultivation, greenery program and the Green India Challenge with its inspiration towards greenery promotion. . The first copy was handed over by the CM to Environmentalist Salumarada Thimmakka.
