Singareni: Coal production from 10 new projects in the next five years: CMD N Sridhar Comprehensive Review on Project Permits, Launch
In view of the growing demand for coal, Singareni has decided to start coal production from 10 new projects in the next five years. The company’s Chairman and MD Shri N. Sridhar chaired a high – level meeting with the company’s directors and advisors at the Singareni Bhavan in Hyderabad on Saturday to review the new projects at length.
It also reviewed the progress of work on large projects that will start coal production in various areas this year, as well as approvals for other projects to be launched in the next five years.
Among the coal blocks to be started this financial year are expected to produce 25 lakh tonnes of coal this year from the Naini coal block in Odisha, 15 lakh tonnes from the VK Coal Mine ready for launch at Kottagudem, 5 lakh tonnes from the Goleti OC in the Bellampalli area and the JK OC mine in the Illandu area. The CMD directed to proceed with a specific plan for the extraction of 10 lakh tonnes of coal from.
He also discussed other projects that will be launched in the next five years. In all, 332 lakh tonnes of coal resources will be available for these 10 projects combined. These 10 projects will play a key role in the production of Singareni Calories as it aims to produce 100 million tonnes in another five years and reach its turnover target of Rs 50,000 crore.
