Hyderabad: The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated with much enthusiasm at the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) campus, here, on Tuesday.
Led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi from Mysore, EFLU Vice Chancellor and Member, UGC, New Delhi, Prof. E. Suresh Kumar along with students, teaching, and non-teaching staff practised yoga while watching the livestreaming of the main event of the 8th International Day of Yoga celebrations.
In tune with the International Day of Yoga theme, Yoga for Humanity, the celebrations witnessed the active participation of the faculty, students, and the staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Suresh Kumar highlighted that the regular practice of Yoga is essential to maintain a healthy body, mind, and spirit.

Emphasizing on Yoga Day theme, “Yoga for Humanity,” the Vice Chancellor stated that the practice of Yoga promotes peace and harmony in the society.
He thanked the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for identifying the EFLU as one of the 75 iconic locations to conduct the International Day of Yoga marking the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the 75 years of independence.
Academic administrators, faculty members, students, and staff took part in large numbers in the event held at the New Academic Block of the campus, which wore a festive look.
