Kerala: 92 MW Floating Solar Power Project Commissioned at NTPC-Kayamkulam
With the commissioning of last phase of 35 MW Floating Solar Power Project, the 92-MW Floating Solar Power Project at NTPC-Kayamkulam (Kerala) has become fully operational.
The third and final part capacity of 35 MW out of 92 MW Floating Solar PV Project at NTPC-Kayamkulam declared COD (Commercial Operation Date)w.e.f. 00:00 hrs. of 24.06.2022.NTPC-KayamkulamSolar PV Project is now the largest floating solar power plant under operation in India.With the commissioning of this plant, the NTPC Group’s installed Renewable Energy capacity has crossed 2 GW.
On achieving the milestone, Regional Executive Director (South) Shri Naresh Anand congratulated Team Kayamkulam and reiterated NTPC’s commitment for Renewable Energy. Actualizing NTPC’s target of 60 GW of Renewable Energy capacity by 2032, Southern Region is taking concerted efforts, Shri Anand added.
With the operational of 92-MW Solar PV Project at Kayamkulam, total commercial operation of Floating Solar Capacity in Southern Region rose to 197 MW. Earlier, NTPC declared Commercial operation of 80 MW Floating Solar at Ramagundam (Telangana State) and 25 MW Floating Solar at Simhadri (Andhra Pradesh).
