In men’s doubles, B Sumeeth Reddy and Chirag Shetty breezed past Dumindu Abeywickrama and Sahin Dias in straight games to win 21-10, 21-13.
In Weightlifting, Sanket Sargar clinched Silver by winning in the men’s 55kg weightlifting event. He lifted a total of 248kg (113 snatches, 135 clean & jerk) to take the second spot.
In Badminton, Aakarshi Kashyap won her match by 21-3, 21-9 against Sri Lanka’s Suhasini Vidanage. With this win, India has sealed a place in the quarters.
In Tennis women’s team event – Reeth Rishiya won her match 11-7, 14-12, 13-11 vs Chelsea Edghill. India has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead with this win.
In Swimming, Kushagra Rawat for India finished last in his heat with a time of 1:54.56s in men’s 200m freestyle. Australia’s Elijah Winnington won the heat with a timing of 1:46.87s.
In Athletics, India’s Nitendra Singh Rawat is currently the 13th, trailing race leader Liam Adams of Australia by over 3 minutes.
In, Lawn Bowls, the round 3 match of the men’s triple between India and Malta has ended in a tie. The two teams finished on level terms at 16-all after 18 ends.
In the men’s marathon final, India’s Nitendra Rawat is currently 12th with Australian Liam Adams in the lead.
In the women’s Sprint, India’s Mayuri Lute clocked 11.542s, while Triyasha Paul clocked 11.813s. They are placed in 11th and 14th positions.
