Telangana: Heavy rains disrupt normal life: Immersion of Ganesha idols in heavy rain
Heavy rains lashed several places across Telangana state last evening disrupting normal life. Meanwhile, the administrators of various Ganesh Pendals are facing difficulties as they have to perform procession and immersion of Ganesh idols in heavy rain.
The low-lying areas in some areas have been marooned and vehicular traffic movement was affected on many routes, especially in Hyderabad. Munipally in Sangareddy district recorded 8.8 cms of highest rainfall.
The MeT officials informed that the Southwest Monsoon has been active in Telangana with eight districts receiving excess rainfall of over 60 percent and 24 districts recording excess rainfall of 20 to 59 percent.
Officials informed that rains were likely to continue for a few more days as a low-pressure area had formed over West Central and adjoining East Central Bay of Bengal.
