Telangana: Project Screening Committee decided to process forest diversion proposals on priority basis
There is need to process forest diversion proposals on priority and proactively
The First Meeting of Project Screening Committee, Telangana was conducted here in the Aranya Bhavan today on hybrid mode.
In the recently amended Forest Conservation rules 2022, all project proposals of diversion of Forests (more than 5 Ha) are to be scrutinized and processed by Project Screening Committee having PCCF & Nodal Officer as Chairman and concerned District Collector, District Forest Officer and Conservator of Forests of Forest as Members and DCF (FCA) as Member Convener.
In its first meeting today 10 project proposals (2- Transmission,1- Irrigation. 2-Singernie Collieries, 2- R&B Roads , 2- MoRTH Road and 1- Railways) were scrutinized and discussed. During review, the Project Screening Committee Chairman and PCCF (FCA) M.C.Pargaien has requested both User Agencies and Forest Department officials to process these proposals on priority as expeditiously as possible so that the concerned Department can implement proposed works without any delay.
He has also requested the representatives of User Agencies to take all precautions so that requested information for processing is processed immediately by concerned District Forest Officer.
