Mr. N. Sridhar, Chairman and MD of the company has directed the concerned officials to start production from Naini coal block and three other surface mines in Odisha in this new year and all related arrangements should be made on a war footing subject to time limit.
A long review meeting was held with directors, advisors, project planning officers and area GMs from Hyderabad Singareni Bhavan on the new projects to be undertaken in Singareni.
He discussed extensively on the 10 projects to be undertaken by the Singareni company in the next five years, suggesting that at least four mines should start coal production in this new year and directed the activities to be undertaken in a phased manner.
It has been clarified that the removal of overburden from the Naini coal block undertaken by Singareni in the state of Odisha will start from next month and coal production will start from March.
Also, he ordered to start the production process from June this year from VK Coal Mine in New Gudem, Goleti surface mine in Bellampally area and JK OC Expansion (Rompedu) mine in Illandu area from July.
He directed that the OB contracts should also be finalized after obtaining forest, environmental and other permissions related to these mines. It is advised to get all the permissions for the opening of MVK OC and other mines in Bellampally area in the financial year 2023-24, and for this, it has been suggested to move forward in a planned way.
A decision was taken in the meeting to increase the annual production targets of the new open cast mines which are currently in production. He ordered the production of 30 lakh tonnes of coal per year from the recently opened GDK coal mine, 26 lakh tonnes from the Indaram open cast and 22.5 lakh tonnes from the KK OC mine.
